Dunedin FL. Carefree RV Resort

Our first camping adventure was to Dunedin FL  and we stayed at  Dunedin Carefree RV Resorts .  As a first trip I think we may have been immediately spoiled for many campgrounds to come as this place was incredible.  The first impression I got when pulling into the driveway was how well the signage was for a newbie like me to follow and find the registration office and where to park so I wasn’t in the way, all the lanes were very well marked on the very new road pavement.  Next the staff were extremely pleasant while signing us in, provided us with a site map, and even drew a line on the site map showing the best and easiest route to get to our pull through site

The pad was concrete, large and level side to side. with plenty of room length wise for our 32’camper and long bed 4 door truck, I’d say we had a good 5 feet front and back to spare.

After setting up, my wife Tracie and I took a walk around the grounds to see all the amenities.  Now my being in the lawn and landscape business, I immediately noticed how well the grounds were maintained.  Our first stop was the pool area, very clean, nice and large with plenty of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas.

On the grounds by the clubhouse there was also a fully fenced in doggy run/park that was quite large with seating for the playing pets owners, there were a couple of horseshoe game pits, cornhole boards, and shuffleboard courts.  For the kids there was a playground with a swingset and slide, and there was even a small grassy area that was fully enclosed with a low fence for toddlers.

The location was perfect.  We were very close to Clearwater, Tarpon Springs and a couple of state parks.  We did go to and spend some time at Honeymoon Island State Park shown in the picture and walk the beaches around sunset and it was very nice, and clean also, very clean actually.

So all in all our first experience was fairly painless, a couple of learning experience with the trailer which we will share in another post, but the facilities and campground I believe are probably top notch but we have nothing else to compare them to yet, but we were both thoroughly impressed! We will go back for sure.

  2. This place looks like fun! I have been down that way before to visit the Sponge Docks! That is a must see. Rich in history. If you or anyone for that matter, visits that area again, you have to visit Mr. Souvlaki’s, it’s a Greek restaurant. You have to order the flaming cheese! Literally, it’s on fire-Yummy!!

  3. Emergency kits are one of the crucial necessary issues
to deliver on a tenting trip. Though your location can contribute to
necessities in the equipment, the fundamentals will stay the same.
Antivenom is another vital element to deliver with you, relying on the
    world where you visit.
